• Perform all duties necessary, under the general direction of the Engineering/Production Manager to successfully design and develop new products within the ignition coil and sensor product lines.
• Responsibilities and Duties
• Supports the product design process for HEI Coils
• Uses reverse engineering techniques to design new replacement parts
• Uses 3-D modeling programs to make complex drawings of HEI coils and components
• Determines product specifications and standards
• Performs development cost analysis
• Performs ‘make or buy’ cost analysis for component parts
• Builds pilot runs on new products
• Resolves technical issues with respect to product performance
• Assists in product transfer from development to production
• Consults, communicates with Sales and customers concerning product requirements and specifications
• Ergonomic Focus

• Walking, sitting, bending.
• Using computer workstation including keyboard and mouse.
• Frequent use of telephone.
• Frequent verbal and written communication.
• Use of tools and production equipment

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 3 + years of Automotive related Design Experience preferably electrically related to ignition coils
• Experience with Mechatronics, Electric Motors for Power Tools and Toys Ideal
• Fabrication Testing
• Data Acquistion
• Electric Motor Vacuum Pump Experience +
• Experience with wiring harnesses
• Jack of all trades.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Computer skills, MS Office and CAD software
• Experience with expressing ideas through drawings and specifications
• Experience with lab equipment in an industrial setting.
• Able to perform data gathering and data analysis
• Walking, sitting, bending.
• Using computer workstation including keyboard and mouse.
• Frequent use of telephone.
• Lifting up to 30 lbs unassisted.
• Frequent verbal and written communication.
• Use of tools and production equipment
