Design Engineer – Automotive
We are looking for a Design Engineer to design automotive fuel injectors. The desired candidate will have strong electro-mechanical skills that will support the design, and prototype processes associated with new product development. Opportunities include the design of high precision, close tolerance parts and development of machining, assembly and testing methods. Project leadership including delegation of tasks and follow up with team members is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary design responsibility; Determines product specifications and standards; Performs development cost analysis; Drafts capital appropriation requests for required project funding; Builds pilot runs on new products; Resolves technical issues with respect to product performance and cost; Maintains involvement in all aspects of project; May serve as project manager; Assists in product transfer from development to production; Consults / communicates with Sales department and customers concerning product requirements and specifications.
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Three or more years design experience; Experience with solid modeling software, Pro Engineer preferred FUEL INJECTION EXPERIENCE or related to the AUTO INDUSTRY Flow Analysis FEA Software Geometric dimensioning and tolerance; Experience with APQP process and ISO TS 16949 or QS9000 processes; Project management experience; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to define ideas through drawings and specifications, operate basic lab equipment;
