POSITION OVERVIEW
Compounding Manufacturing Engineer
The primary purpose of the Manufacturing Engineer is to run the unit safely, reliably, and efficiently. The
Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for unit operating performance to include production, raw material usage, quality, daily performance tracking, energy usage, troubleshooting, and process optimization. The Compounding Manufacturing Engineer provides detailed process and technical guidance to the Operations Team and routinely interacts with Production operators and supervision, Maintenance mechanics and supervision, Quality personnel, Project Engineering, and Process Technology.
TARGETED OUTCOMES
? Drive unit performance to operational entitlement with respect to yields, usages, reliability, and quality
? Achieve annual operating productivity targets by maintaining a unit performance tracking program
? Maintain accurate accounting of all unit production losses and drive actions to correct
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
? Committed to plant safety, environmental compliance, and industrial hygiene best practices
? Provide detailed process guidance to the Production Team and Site Leadership in the execution of scheduled
production.
? Advanced troubleshooting, investigation, and process optimization to address gaps identified
through daily performance monitoring
? Interface with Technology and Compounding Center of Excellence to:
o Develop process changes to accommodate new products and optimize current processes
o Initiate and implement new projects to improve the process
o Escalate technical issues which are too complex to handle within the unit
? Facilitation of MOCs originating from unit needs
? Facilitation of and participation in RCAs and FMEAs
? Support of and participation in project teams for facilities improvements to include project management and
execution
? Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and Equipment Reliability (documentation and improvement plans)
? Drive targeted actions in response to performance gaps in KPI’s as well as production losses
? Provide technical expertise, training standards, and technical training for operators
? Maintain and develop technical documentation including process safety information (PSI), plant drawings,
and technical specs
? Work with vendors/material suppliers

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
? Bachelor of Science Degree Engineering, preferably Electrical or Mechanical
? Minimum 12 years post grad relevant work experience (extrusion, compounding, plastics, etc.)
? Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, 3D modeling software (SolidWorks preferred).
? Experience with and working knowledge of Data Analytics Software (dataPARC preferred)
? Strong knowledge and experience with the following is also desired: SPC, PLC functionality, safety and
environmental policies and operator training.
? A understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) and ISO9001 is also preferred.
DESIRED CERTIFICATION
? Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
