Job Description
Experienced Design Engineer to design electro-mechanical automotive devices. Product lines include electronic valve components (Idle Air Control Valve) (IACV) and Fuel Pressure Regulators) (FPR). The desired candidate will have strong electro-mechanical skills that will support the design, development and prototype processes associated with new product development. Opportunities include the design of high precision, close tolerance parts and development of machining, assembly and testing methods. Project leadership including delegation of tasks and follow up with team members is essential. Experience with automotive parts, pneumatic applications, computer controlled devices and liquid applications would be desired in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary design responsibility; Determines product specifications and standards; Performs development cost analysis; Drafts capital appropriation requests for required project funding; Builds pilot runs on new products; Resolves technical issues with respect to product performance and cost; Maintains involvement in all aspects of project; May serve as project manager; Assists in product transfer from development to production; Consults / communicates with Sales department and customers concerning product requirements and specifications.

Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Three or more years design experience; Computer skills, MS Office, Solidworks; Automotive experience desired, fuel injection experience a plus; Geometric dimensioning and tolerance; Experience with APQP process and ISO TS 16949 or QS9000 processes; Project management experience; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to define ideas through drawings and specifications, operate basic lab equipment; Ability to perform data gathering and analysis.
