Production Engineering Supervisor

The primary purpose of the Production Engineering Supervisor is to drive safety, reliability, and efficiency in ECU and Distribution. The Production Engineering Supervisor adds direct value to the business by improving real-time unit performance in production, raw material usage, energy usage, quality, and daily KPI tracking.

The Production Engineering Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and correct prioritization of the technical resource team which includes ECU and Distribution Engineers and Specialists. Additionally, the Production Engineering Supervisor is expected to be PSM certified and serve as a back up to the Operations Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Contribute to building a positive culture that values safety, reliability and sustainability Track and drive unit regulatory compliance: PHA, Unit MOC’s, RECs, KMS incident review and closure, environmental compliance Drive optimization of costs and unit operations through Engineers and Specialists Drive consistency through visible leadership, develop, and coach the manufacturing engineers and production specialists; hold them accountable to their roles Coordinate Engineer and Specialist work loads to ensure high priority items are completed in a timely manner Conduct and participate in ESSH audits and complete corrective actions for RECs Drive targeted actions in response to performance gaps in KPI’s Serve as a back up to the Operations Manager for MOCs, Bypass Cards, and Deviations Elevate issues that exceed unit capability to Production or Process Engineering for additional support Support capital management process

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Education – BS or MS in Chemical Engineering Minimum 5 years of experience. Chemical plant and utilities manufacturing experience highly preferred.

DESIRED CERTIFICATION

Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt

REQUIRED SKILLS & Knowledge

Strong knowledge of Systems – ASPEN products, heat transfer, hydraulics, etc. Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management is essential Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to innovate and solve complex problems Willingness to provide after-hours support Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams Strong communication skills, both oral and written Ability to perform in a highly dynamic work environment Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives
